CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A run of dry weather is underway, and it will carry us through much of the work week. After a fall-like start this morning, temperatures are set to climb back into more summerlike levels by late-week.
Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies with highs near 80, and by Wednesday we are back in the low 80s. Afternoon highs will hold in the low to mid-80s Thursday through Saturday, which is warmer than average for this time of year. Rain chances remain slim, with only a stray shower or storm possible late Thursday.
By Sunday, a sluggish low pressure system begins to swing into the Ohio Valley. That will bring scattered showers and storms back into the forecast, lingering at times into Monday and Tuesday. While no day looks like a total washout, the unsettled pattern may bring down temperatures a few degrees.
Of note, we will continue to monitor the timing for Sunday’s Bengals home opener. Right now, scattered storms are possible, but confidence in exact placement and timing remains low.
Farther out, the early outlook for Oktoberfest Zinzinnati’s opening day Thursday shows more promising weather – for now. Clearing skies and comfortable temperatures are expected, setting up a nice kickoff to one of Cincinnati’s most attended traditions.
