Alex Rodriguez says he would give fellow MLB legend Barry Bonds a five-star rating for driving him to see the Minnesota Timberwolves play the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals.
“Five stars for Mr. Barry Bonds. Every time I come to San Francisco, you gotta call Barry. Amazing Uber,” Rodriguez said in a video posted to social media on Saturday.
Bonds, who holds the MLB record with 762 career home runs, was also outraged to hear Rodriguez say he hit “about 720” during his career.
The NBA later shared a photo of Rodriguez and Bonds courtside at Chase Center ahead of Saturday night’s 8:30 p.m. ET tip-off.
The Warriors and Timberwolves traded wins in Minneapolis, with the Wolves struggling with shooting in Game 1 but taking advantage of Stephen Curry’s absence in Game 2 to even the series.
The Warriors will now look to recover the series lead despite Curry’s hamstring injury. Curry could return for Game 6 “at the earliest,” ESPN’s Shams Charania said Friday.
