THURSDAY: Lingering showers and a few storms could hang around through the morning commute – generally, along and north of I-40. Gradually, rain will taper – morning clouds to give way to some sunshine. Highs will top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s; skies remain partly clear overnight with lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
FRIDAY: A quiet day expected with a mix of clouds and sun after a cool start to the day – we’ll rebound into the middle to upper 70s by the afternoon hours. Clouds will gradually build overnight, leading to another chance for rain and storms into the overnight period into early Saturday. A few storms could be gusty, at times, as lows fall back into the 60s.
EXTENDED FORECAST: Rain chances will turn forward facing through the course of the weekend. Rain and storms pick up through Saturday – having impacts on several events planned across the region. Rain chances look to taper through late afternoon into the evening hours. The lull in the activity will, eventually, give way to another wave of showers and storms on Sunday into Monday. A few of the storms could be locally strong – mainly Sunday. Eventually, the pattern switches up and a quieter period takes us toward the final days of May.
