‘Andor’ scored 14 Emmy nominations, but missed 2 major categories


Star Wars fans had to wait three long years for the return of the Rogue One prequel series Andor, but in the end, the Rebels delivered.

And now the Star Wars series is once again Emmy-nominated, scoring 14 nods this morning when the various shortlists were announced.

These nominations bring the series grand total to 22. Andor earned eight nominations for its first season back in 2023.

But there were two major categories where some expected Andor to show up but didn’t make the cut.

Read on below for a complete list of Andor’s nominations and snubs for the 2025 Emmy Awards.

Best Drama Series: Nominated

Followed up its nomination in the top category for 2023 with a second nod for Season 2. It will compete against The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, The Pitt, Severance, Slow Horses, and The White Lotus.

Best Drama Actor: Snubbed

After missing out on an acting nomination for the first season, Diego Luna has once again been snubbed for his heroic work as Cassian Andor.

Best Drama Supporting Actress: Snubbed

Genevieve O’Reilly‘s Mon Montha was a standout character from the series second season, but she failed to make the cut in a competitive category. O’Reilly had been seen as the series best chance for an acting nomination heading into the announcement.

Best Drama Guest Actor: Nominated

Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker reprised his Rogue One role of the Rebel lead Saw Gerrera in Season 2. This is his fourth Emmy nomination. He previously won in 2003 for producing the made-for-TV movie Door to Door.

Best Character Voice-Over Performance: Nominated

Another Rogue One cast member was nominated for reprising their role. Alan Tudyk, who voiced the droid K-2S0, made the cut for Best Character Voice-Over Performance.

Best Drama Writing: Nominated

Series creator Dan Gilroy received his first writing nomination for Andor. For the first season, House of Cards creator Beau Willimon was nominated.

Crafts

Andor dominated in the craft categories, upping its nomination total from Season 1. It managed to secure nominations for production design, cinematography, costumes, directing, editing, music composition, original music and lyrics, sound editing, sound mixing, and visual effects.
