The Dallas Wings (7-17) look to continue their positive momentum as they travel out west to take on the Golden State Valkyries (10-12), who have a chance to sneak their way into a playoff spot.

In what has otherwise been a tough campaign for the Wings, their latest 87-63 victory over the Seattle Storm could be a major turning point. Arike Ogunbowale led the team in scoring with 29, making four of her six attempts from beyond the arc, while Paige Bueckers added 14 points and six assists. Haley Jones played a fantastic game off the bench, scoring 10 points with six rebounds, six assists, two steals, three blocks, and a team-best plus-25.

After winning seven of nine, Golden State finds itself firmly in a funk, losing three in a row and five of its last six. They are well rested, their last game was back on July 16, a 67-58 loss to the Storm. Despite taking care of the ball (11 turnovers), they couldn’t make many shots, going just 7-for-31 from the 3-point line (22.6%) and 19-for-60 overall (31.7%).

Dallas defeated Golden State 81-71 in a Commissioner’s Cup game in June, and will face each other two more times this season.
