Stat of the day: With Sunday’s loss, the Red Sox fell to 57-2 when leading after eight innings.
Notes: The last-place Orioles have won four of their past five games and took two of three games from the Astros in Houston over the weekend. … The Sox may be without Wilyer Abreu, who had two hits, including a two-run home run in Sunday’s loss, but left the game with tightness in his right calf after he scored on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. … Abreu is batting .300 with an .860 OPS over his last 16 games, driving in 14 RBI. … May’s only appearance against the Orioles came in September 2019. He didn’t allow a run in two innings and didn’t factor in the decision. … Rogers is 0-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 18⅓ innings over four starts against the Red Sox. That included his 6⅓ scoreless innings in a 2-1 Baltimore win on May 24 in which he did not get a decision.
