Shedeur Sanders slipped to the fifth round of the NFL Draft in part due to concerns about his maturity.
Now Browns GM Andrew Berry is openly saying that some of Sanders’ decisions were “not smart” and “dangerous.”
Sanders was pulled over twice this summer for speeding in Ohio — once for driving 91 mph in a 65 mph speed limit and another for driving 101 in a 60 mph limit
“Not smart. Just not smart,” Berry told reporters. “It’s something that we’ve addressed with him. Look, he understands the implications, he understands the consequences. It’s not just about yourself. It’s not just about having a joyride, but that you could injure other people. … A deer or something cuts in front of you, your reaction time, it’s just dangerous.”
On the field, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel are considered the front-runners for the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback position, but one ESPN analyst predicts Sanders will be the starter by midseason.
“Quarterback Shedeur Sanders will be the Cleveland Browns starter by their Week 9 bye week,” former Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins said recently. “They have a lot of quarterbacks in that building, but I think that the voices of the fans are going to get louder and louder as the season goes on. I think we know who Kenny Pickett is. We know who Joe Flacco is, and I think Shedeur supplants Dillon Gabriel.”
