By Robert Haugh

Santa Clara’s free summer concert series continues tonight with Chrome Deluxe, a Bay Area band known for its energetic mix of blues, R&B, and swing.

The concert runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Central Park Pavilion, located at 909 Kiely Blvd.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and dinner to enjoy under the summer sky.

George Brandau, Eddie Berljafa, Baxter Robertson, and John Truitt make up Chrome Deluxe. The veteran musicians have built a loyal following with their upbeat covers and soulful sound, performing at venues across the Bay Area, including the Poor House Bistro in San Jose.

Friday’s show is part of Santa Clara’s Concerts in the Park series, presented by the city’s Cultural Commission and Parks & Recreation Department. The summer lineup features live performances every Friday through August.

Admission is free and open to all ages. Food trucks may be on site. For more information and the full concert schedule, visit the City of Santa Clara’s event page.
