Satou Sabally discusses her 2025 WNBA All-Star Game selection
Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally dishes on what it is like to be selected as a starter for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.
The Phoenix Mercury will see a lot of the Dallas Wings in the next three games after enjoying several days off following a home game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, June 29.
The Mercury will be in Dallas on Thursday, July 3, to face the Wings (5-13), who have been 4-6 in the last 10 games. Both teams have faced each other once this season, with the Mercury winning 93-80 on June 11.
The Mercury hold the second-best record in the league, going 12-5 to start the season.
The Wings will come to Phoenix on Monday, July 7 for the penultimate meeting of the season.
Star rookie Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall pick, leads Dallas in scoring (18.4 points) and assists (5.8). Her marks lead all rookies, along with being 11th and sixth overall in the WNBA. Bueckers was recently named an All-Star starter and is the first rookie to start the All-Star Game in Dallas Wings history.
In the last meeting against the Mercury, Bueckers recorded 35 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Mercury finish the homestand with the Minnesota Lynx (14-2), the league’s leading team, on Wednesday, July 9.
The Lynx lost the Commissioner’s Cup final on Tuesday, July 1, to the Indiana Fever. Minnesota star Napheesa Collier, the WNBA’s leading scorer at 24.4 points per game, was held to only 12 points on 6-of-18 shooting in the in-season tournament championship.
Even with the loss, the Lynx hold the best record over the last 10 games, going 8-2. The Lynx have the best defense in the league, holding opponents to 74.1 points per game. The Mercury are fourth in that category, averaging 79.3 points surrendered.
The meeting against the Lynx will be at 12:30 p.m. for Camp Day, a promotion where several local youth camps are invited to watch the Mercury.
