Syracuse put up a fight in Week 1 but ultimately succumbed to No. 24 Tennessee by a score of 45-26. Week 2 was a bounce-back, as the Orange took down Connecticut 27-20 in overtime, after trailing 16-6 with just 5:41 left in the fourth quarter. Steve Angeli dominated through the air, completing 34 of 54 passes for 416 yards and two touchdowns, while Yasin Willis ran for 48 yards on 11 attempts and one touchdown to help the cause.

Colgate has had a tough start to their season, but have been competitive in both of their losses, a 42-39 loss to Monmouth and then most recently, a 24-17 road loss to Villanova. Quarterback Zach Osborne threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns against Villanova, with receiver Treyvhon Saunders emerging as his favorite target of the day, catching 10 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown.
