Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Are ‘Going Strong’ in Relationship (Exclusive Source)

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s romance is still solid.

Seven months after the couple confirmed they were in a relationship by holding hands on their way to dinner in Santa Monica, California, a source tells PEOPLE that they are “going strong” and have built a “good foundation.”

The insider adds that Jackman, 56, and Foster, 50, were spotted holding hands at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts, last month, and he was “excited” to support her “One Night Only” performance at nearby Tanglewood Music Center, alongside Kelli O’Hara.

While the former Music Man costars are rarely seen out and about together, they were spotted walking hand-in-hand in New York City back in May, while Jackman was starring in the Off-Broadway play Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Class.

Following their Jan. 6 dinner date in Santa Monica — which came two days after Jackman attended Foster’s play Once Upon a Mattress in Los Angeles — she later supported him at the opening night of his From New York, with Love show in N.Y.C on Jan. 24.

The pair’s romance came after they both went through divorces. Jackman separated from his now-ex-wife of 27 years, Deborra-lee Furness, in September 2023, while Foster filed for divorce from her now-ex-husband, Ted Griffin, in October 2024.

Foster and Jackman first became friends in the early 2000s, while both planting roots in different Broadway musicals.

The pair supported each other’s careers for years before finally working together. In 2019, they were announced as the leads in the Broadway revival of The Music Man. However, due to COVID delays, they didn’t actually start performing together until 2022.

Back in 2022, Foster told PEOPLE of her bond with Jackman, “The best thing that’s happened out of this whole thing is that I’ve made a new friend, which you never anticipate.”

“We always joke that after 40, you don’t really make new friends!” she added. “He’s a dream and so kind and talented and is even more generous. He’s pretty fantastic.”

That same year, Jackman admitted on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he was initially intimidated to work with Foster after her years on Broadway, as he’s “watched everything she’s done and it’s amazing.”

Foster chimed in to call the entire production of The Music Man “so joyful,” and added that she’s “having the time of my life playing opposite this guy.”
