During her White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was seen without her usual cross necklace following the Daily Show host Jon Stewart’s pointed joke
Karoline Leavitt was seen ditching her signature cross necklace during her latest White House press briefing following the Daily Show host Jon Stewart ruthless joke this week.
During her White House press briefing on Tuesday, June 3, the White House press secretary was seen sporting a long-sleeved navy blue blazer with gold buttons, a matching blue skirt, and pointed black heels. Karoline was also notably seen without her cross necklace around her neck, following Stewart’s bold joke.
During his latest talk show appearance, the 62-year-old television personality said: “By the way, I think that the more she [Karoline] lies, the bigger her cross gets. Is that possible? It’s like some sort of weird Pinocchio cross.”

Stewart, speaking on Karoline’s future with the Trump administration, continued: “The only one who’s going to come out of there unscathed is Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Because I don’t think that she has any principals in there left to die!”
Stewart went on to cut Karoline some slack, as he argued that Americans shouldn’t shoot the messenger. He said: “I’m not even upset with this lady. Because just rolling with the punches is clearly the only strategy for happiness when you’re working for Trump.”
Continuing to take aim at President Donald Trump, Stewart went on to add: “Trump’s very open secret has always been: He doesn’t believe in or care about any policy issue at all. He wants attention, he wants his ego stroked, and he wants money. He wants f—wads and f—wads of money.”
But Stewart isn’t the only one who’s taken notice of Karoline’s massive cross necklaces during her latest public appearances. In a Reddit thread, one person wrote: “Dear Ms. Leavitt, since your party clearly doesn’t espouse the teachings of Jesus, it would probably be best to not wear that cross around your neck during briefings. You’d look less hypocritical.”
Another user added: “She’s wearing a fashion statement, it’s not a symbol of her beliefs.”
Someone else boldly chimed in: “The Trump administration is as far from the teachings of Jesus as you can get. She and all the other fake Christians in the Republican party are a bunch of f—-g hypocrites.”
While someone else simply responded: “It’s all about the image.”
While some critics have called into question Karoline’s faith, the 27-year-old has been outspoken about the important role religion plays in her life. In an interview with CBN News, she stated: “My faith is incredibly important to me, I would argue, now more than ever, being in a role that is very demanding and at times controversial, and there’s a lot of public pressure and discussion online about who you are and your family. And you know, it could be difficult for someone who doesn’t have faith but with faith, all things are possible.”
