The Lake Fire sparked in the area of Nacimiento Lake Drive and Oak Street, south of Borax Lake.
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Forward progress on the Lake Fire in Lake County has been stopped, according to Cal Fire.
The Lake Fire sparked in the area of Nacimiento Lake Drive and Oak Street in Clearlake around 3:15 p.m. Sunday. It’s grown to about 340 acres in size.
Containment is at 25%. Initial reports from Cal Fire had the fire burning at a moderate rate of spread with two structures involved.
“The assessment into any structures destroyed or damaged during this fire is ongoing and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Crews will remain on site into the evening and for the next couple days working on fortifying control lines and mopping up the interior of the fire,” Cal Fire said.

All zones have returned to normal status.

If you live in a wildfire-prone zone, Cal Fire suggests creating a defensible space around your home. Defensible space is an area around a building in which vegetation and other debris are completely cleared. At least 100 feet is recommended.
