The Los Angeles Sparks snapped the Indiana Fever’s longest win streak in over a decade on Tuesday.

The Sparks defeated the Fever, 100-91, on Tuesday, Aug. 5 in front of a star-studded crowd at Crypto.com Arena that included comedian Leslie Jones, actor Ashton Kutcher, Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green and Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. The Sparks have won seven of their last eight games.

Los Angeles was firing on all cylinders in the win. Four of five starters reached double-digits points, led by Kelsey Plum’s second double-double of the season. Plum finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds, Rickea Jackson had 25 points, Azura Stevens added 19 points and Dearica Hamby had 16 points.

“We’ve had a lot of people in and out of the lineup … We are finally 12 solid,” Plum said. “We just got to continue to build that chemistry and defensively continue to get better and grow. Just really proud to get this win tonight.”

Things got interesting late in the contest. It looked like the Sparks were going to run away with the game with a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Fever went on a 21-5 run to cut their deficit to six points with 2:09 left. The Sparks responded with a huge 3 from Azura Stevens to end the Fever’s run and extend their lead back to nine points. Stevens went 5-for-5 from deep to match her career-high.

The Sparks have notoriously struggled at home this season, entering Tuesday’s matchup 3-9 at Crypto.com, but Los Angles improved to 4-9 at home and 13-15 on the season with the win. The Sparks also picked up a tiebreaker over the Fever following their third win over Indiana this season.

Kelsey Mitchell finished with 34 points and six assists in the losing effort. Aliyah Boston finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, finishing one rebound shy of her seventh consecutive double-double.
