Steph Curry and LeBron James are ready to go toe-to-toe in another sport, and the friendly banter already has begun.
After James shared a video of his golf swing to his Instagram page last week, Curry took the first chance he saw to impersonate his fellow NBA superstar.
Curry, who is in South Lake Tahoe for the American Century Championship tournament, took the green Wednesday to warm up and practice ahead of the annual event. But he couldn’t leave without having a little fun while doing his best James impression.
Curry swung and held a dramatic follow-through pose, as those watching burst into laughter once they noticed he was mimicking James.
And, of course, it’s all just in good fun for two mega-athletes and friends.
“Unbelievable impersonation of my guy Bron’s follow-through in his golf swing,” Curry said. “But we all want to welcome LeBron James to the world of golf. The game needs you, big fella.”
For the opening round on Friday, Curry will be a part of the first 24 groups that will tee off at 7:45 a.m. PT. The second tee time is 1 p.m. for the remaining 25 groups. Curry, Miles Teller and Rob Mac will play in the morning, with Travis Kelce, Josh Allen and Alfonso Ribeiro headlining the afternoon groups.
Curry won the American Century Championship in 2023 on a last-hole eagle putt, but didn’t play last year while in Paris for the Olympics.
