A huge fire has broken out on the Tomorrowland main stage.
Videos shared widely on social media this evening show the Belgian festival’s main stage ablaze less than 48 hours before it opens its gates to over 100,000 attendees. The fire appears to have burnt the stage down almost completely.
Local publication GVA reports that “emergency services are on the scene in large numbers” and that advice is being given to local residents “keep their windows and doors closed”.
Around 1,000 employees are reported to have been on site when the fire broke out. No injuries have been reported at the time of writing. The cause of the blaze remains unknown, although sources have said that fireworks were heard in the fire.
In a statement shared with local media, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilsem said: “The fire started near the main stage. We don’t yet know the exact cause. But our first priority now is to get everyone to safety, as well as the safety of all local residents. We will communicate further after that.”
An additional article shared by GVA, as well as videos shared on X, show the extent of the blaze.
DJ Mag has reached out to Tomorrowland’s organisers for further information. This is a developing story.
