One of America’s top retailers, Walmart, issued a recall alert that spread across 23 states. This is a massive hit because it means that numerous stores in those 23 states will be affected by the recall. The reason for the recall is that some items like salad kits, ice cream, and shrimp have been flagged by the U.S Food and Drug Administration. For the past few weeks, several massive food recalls have occurred. Most of these products are sold at Walmart, and recalls were issued in August 2025. Various federal officials made their voices known when they started warning people not to consume the products sold in affected stores across half the country. The impacted products include salads, ice cream, and possibly radioactive shrimp.
Undeclared allergens and possible radioactive contamination pose different and severe public-health concerns it is consumed. Allergens products such as sesame, soy, almond, walnut and pecan can also trigger anaphylaxis in susceptible people, and repeated exposure to low levels of cesium-137 can heighten the risk of cancer. Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit
Taylor Fresh foods made an announcement on August 26, stating a voluntary recall of the Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit 6/8.3oz. The reason for this is because some kits consist of Asian Sesame Ginger dressing instead of the intended Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette. It therefore introduces undeclared sesame and soy allergens.

Blue Bell’s Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream
On August 22, the Blue Bell Creameries made a voluntarily recall a limited number of Moo-llennium Crunch half-gallon cartons. These products were mistakenly packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cartons. According to the company, the error introduced undeclared almond, walnut and pecan and that impacted the cartons bore code 061027524 on the lid.
Additionally, Blue Bell stated that the affected distribution covered Walmart stores in places like Alabama, Arkansas, the Florida panhandle, northwest Georgia, southern Illinois, southern Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and southwest Virginia. Consumers were instructed to return the product for a full refund. A spokesperson for Blue Bell made a statement on Wednesday and said that no illnesses have been reported. Also, no additional damaged packaging has been discovered up until today.
Radioactive Shrimp Warning
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advised the public on August 19, not to eat, sell or serve certain frozen shrimp imported from PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati, that were sold by Walmart. This was announced after authorities found cesium-137 in shipping containers linked to products from the Indonesian company.
The U.S. FDA stated that several distributors and retailers removed or recalled product lots. This distribution affected states such as Alabama, Georgia, Ohio and Texas. In addition, the FDA placed the Indonesian company on an import alert and aligned with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and foreign regulators.

The public’s opinion
According to a Walmart spokesperson, “The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority. We have issued a sales restriction and removed this product from our impacted stores. We are working with the supplier to investigate.”

On the rother hand, for the shrimp advisory, the FDA recommended that consumers get rid of the affected shrimp immediately. They are also encouraged to consult a health-care provider if consumers believed they had been exposed to elevated levels of cesium. According to the agency, the levels detected in samples were below the Derived Intervention Level and it is unlikely to pose an acute hazard. However, if a consumer is exposed for too long it could increase long‑term cancer risk.
