With thousands of visitors expected, the weather will shape up nicely for both the upcoming San Diego Pride Parade and the festival on July 19 and 20.
SAN DIEGO — The forecast for the San Diego Pride Parade and Festival this weekend is mild, with temperatures near normal and morning clouds that give way to sunshine by midmorning.
While coastal communities will enjoy low 70s for Saturday afternoon, Hillcrest’s geographic location will give it a slight boost in temperatures, likely in the mid-70s by midday. Sunday should look similar for the Pride Festival, with morning clouds and afternoon sun with high temps in the 70s.

An increase in monsoonal moisture could trigger an increase in showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for Thursday and Friday afternoons. That threat mainly holds steady across our local mountain ranges, but some models show a few cells pushing west through the valleys and toward the coast. Any commuters traveling into San Diego on Friday afternoon might notice both an uptick in humidity and cloud cover depending on location.
Here’s a more detailed day-to-day outlook:
-
Friday, July 18:
Partly sunny skies are expected. Temperatures should remain comfortable, with no significant chance of rain. Conditions will be favorable for any evening or outdoor festivities. -
Saturday, July 19:
The weather will continue to be partly sunny. Expect similar mild temperatures and pleasant conditions—excellent for the main parade and festival events. No rain is in the forecast. -
Sunday, July 20:
The morning will likely bring areas of low clouds, but these should clear to sunny skies as the day progresses. Temperatures will remain comfortable.
The plus side to this forecast is that moisture, humidity, and our chance for showers drop off for Saturday and Sunday. Instead, the marine layer will resume with some clouds stretching from the coast through the valleys, pulling back gradually throughout the day. At the start of the parade at 10 a.m. we should see just a few clouds remaining and temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. By afternoon, look for increasing sunshine and temperatures closer to the mid-70s.

Sunday will look similar, with only a degree or two of change. Festivities are expected across the county all weekend long, and the farther east you are, the warmer you’ll be with highs ranging from the low 70s by the ocean to the low to mid 80s inland. Regardless, it seems like humidity won’t be nearly as much of an issue as Thursday and Friday.
