Superheroes are being replaced by a new group of iconic heroes facing down many-legged enemies, as a new Fortnite season makes its debut.
“At attention, soldier,” the mega-popular video game announced Wednesday.. “The orders are in, so charge headfirst into the hive! The bugs out there? Vicious, relentless, swarming. The vermin are dug in deep, and drawing out the queen won’t be easy.”
Chapter 6, Season 4, will see “bad bugs bite the bullet” as players are challenged to “neutralize the infestation with the latest and greatest high-tech tools.”
Before we get to that, Fortnite has to update and requires scheduled downtime to do so. Here’s what to know about the timeline for the new season’s launch.
Chapter 6, Season 3 of Fortnite ends at 12:30 a.m. CDT on Thursday, Aug. 7.
After a Fortnite season ends, the servers are typically down for two to five hours before the new season becomes available. Downtime is scheduled to begin after the previous season ends at 12:30 a.m. CDT on Thursday, Aug. 7.
If the update takes the usual five hours, the new Fortnite season will launch around 5:30 a.m. CDT on Thursday, Aug. 7.
However, in the recent past downtime has been extended due to an issue with scheduled updates.
